EM-SPARS

ESSENTIAL MEDICINES SUPERVISION PROGRAM (EM-SPARS)

The program has been running for the last five years with support of Uganda Health Supply chain (UHSC) funded by USAID through MSH (Management of Science in Health).

In May, 2019, the program was transferred to Rakia Health Sciences Program (RHSP) as IP

This covers all accredited Diocesan hospitals and Lower Level facilities (33). The unit is visited bi-monthly until a total of five visits. The assessment focuses at the following areas

  • Prescribing quality
  • Dispensing quality
  • Storage management
  • Stock management
  • Ordering and reporting

At this moment, all facilities graduated after scoring 75% and above during assessment
