OVC-Case Management Manager (01 position)

Reports to: OVC Program Manager

Job Summary: The OVC Case Management Manager will support and manage the technical implementation of the USAID ICYD Activity across the 7 districts supported by MDMS. He/she will coordinate delivery of OVC programming, including transitioning of OVCs majority of whom are children living with HIV and vulnerable adolescent girls and will be responsible for rolling out national case management tools, assessing and enrolling OVC beneficiaries onto the program using the clinic as the primary entry point for identification and enrolment of beneficiaries, and delivering, coordinating, documenting and reporting on HIV and social protection services within an integrated referral network and case management system. The case management manager will work with other managers to ensure quality and efficient use of resources.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Supporting roll out of national case management standard operating procedures, tools, job aids, guidelines, and trainings for government and project
  • Providing regular support supervision, coaching and mentoring the project team and community structure across the implementation districts
  • Strengthening bi-directional facility/community linkages towards improved OVC/AGYW continuum of care with focus on optimizing health and social services
  • Working with project team (project officers and social workers) to identify GBV, child protection and VAC issues and facilitate case conferences and referrals for
  • Overseeing and ensure case conferencing takes place between health facility and social welfare staff to support index testing, retention on care, ART adherence and viral load suppression for children and adolescents living with
  • Providing quality assurance towards strengthening case management and referral
  • Working closely with the ICYD capacity development team to coordinate and move forward capacity development as well as programming in
  • Liaising with the M&E team in tracking and reporting related
  • Compile quarterly and annual progress reports on case
  • Participating in the development and execution of project work plans to ensure realization of project goals and
  • Leading the quality assurance team in assessing compliance to standards at implementation level
  • Promote quality and cost-effective interventions and outcomes while maintaining high standards of stewardship and accountability for all activity resources
  • Supporting and work with OVC manager to ensure harmonized planning and implementation of activities in respective thematic areas to achieve project
  • Representing and promoting program interventions at regional and district level.
  • Perform duties and other tasks assigned by the OVC Program manager

Job Requirements

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in public health, Social work, or other social science or field of study related to project scope of work required
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in supporting case management programming under USG supported OVC or similar programming
  • Knowledge of the national case management SOPs
  • Proven skills in support supervision, mentoring and coaching
  • Proven experience in the design, implementation, and management of case management programs in Uganda
  • Having worked with USAID supported projects involved in OVC programing is an added advantage.
