Medical Officer

Reports to: Diocesan Health Coordinator

Job summary: S/he will be the Technical advisor in the coordination of Masaka Diocesan Health Facilities; ensuring that health facilities are compliant to the MoH and WHO standards guided by the

building blocks for health system strengthening services. S/he is in charge of quality assurance for all MDMS programs and advisor on all clinical services.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Working with Diocesan Health Coordinator to identify gaps in regulatory compliance at the lower health facilities, and design training initiatives depending on identified
  • Support the management of medicines and human resource for better accessibility, equitability, quality and efficiency
  • In Charge of quality improvement with a responsibility for ensuring that all programs have ongoing Quality improvement plans based on the quarterly
  • Offering onsite technical support supervision to health facilities Provide technical and supervisory support to health staff while implementing routine program activities like training and mentorship of health staff and HUMC on health systems
  • Oversee HMIS data gathering, documentation and reporting all health services activities using standard tools under guidance of
  • Monitoring submission of reports on weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis that will be indicative of program progress during
  • Solicit funding for health facilities

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Degree in Medicine and Surgery
  • Must have a passion for public health and health service management
  • At least 1 years of professional experience working with health
  • Demonstrable quantitative skills, including familiarity with financial accounting
  • Proven skills in networking, collaboration, community consultations and organizational development
  • Excellent reporting, communication and representation
